Small World Adventures pioneered commercial kayaking in Ecuador in 1993, and we continue to lead the way, exploring new rivers, developing cutting edge adventure tours, and improving our deluxe riverside lodge so you’ll be lacking in nothing during your week with us. In '93 Larry discovered Ecuador's steep, clear Andean creeks, and big water Amazonian tributaries and immediately decided Ecuador was the place to be. With the gradient and rainfall, it just made sense. 17 years later it still makes sense! Today we are headquartered alongside the Quijos River in our private lodge situated between 2 of the Quijos's best tributaries--the Rio Cosanga and Rio Oyacachi.

Our owners and guides are committed to Ecuador and committed to kayaking—we spend 4-6 months paddling in Ecuador each year, which means we intimately know each run at each of the varying water levels that we see throughout the season. This is super important since river levels in Ecuador are some of the most dynamic anywhere in the world. Using our knowledge gained over the past 17 years, on over 70 runs at our disposal, we’ll get you on the right river for the day. As if this wasn’t enough, our private riverside lodge is worth the trip alone. Our well traveled guests often tell us it is the nicest lodge in South America they’ve ever been to. At our lodge, you'll have a quiet and private room, gourment meals, hot showers, and cold drinks. To help ensure that you have the best possible trip, we keep over 60 kayaks at our lodge for you to choose from. You will have your pick of the newest models of creek boats, play boats, and river runners so you'll always have the right boat for the type of kayaking you’ll be doing.

Our specialty is leading kayaking trips of all levels—from Class II through Class V. We lead our trips on Ecuador's best tropical whitewater, which just happens to be right in our backyard. We also offer rafting trips, or a raft/kayak combo trip so that kayaking and non-kayaking friends or family members can enjoy a vacation together. Our trips have been written up in Outside Magazine, Paddler Magazine, and Canoe and Kayak Magazine, and they continue to amaze both our new and return guests each season.
